Jeffrey Li serves as managing partner of Tencent Investment and corporate vice president of Tencent. He heads Tencent global initiatives in frontier technology investment and strategic M&A, covering consumer and retail, enterprise service, fintech, social and content, as well as life sciences. Tencent Investment promotes an equal and diversified internet ecosystem with remarkable financial return.

In recent months, Tencent Investment has invested in companies including Rox Motor, a maker of electric off-road vehicles, virtual fitness platform Quell and financial management software developer Aspire. Tencent Investments has also backed insurtech firm Curacel, digital bank Lunar and Oxbotica, a developer of autonomous vehicles.

Li serves as board director in several listed companies. He was awarded multiple times as top 10 investors by Zero2IPO, top 30 investors by Forbes China and top five corporate investors by Global Corporate Investment Alliance.

Li joined Tencent in 2011 and launched and led Tencent Investment’s efforts to penetrate key sectors including automotive, education and healthcare. He was responsible for Tencent’s investments in Huayi Brothers, Zhihu, Netmarble Games, Howbuy and many other innovative businesses around the world.

Prior to joining Tencent Investment, Li worked at Google, Nokia and Bertelsmann Asia Investments (now BAI Capital) with extensive experience in technology, the internet and investment. He received a bachelor’s degree from Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management and an MBA from Duke
University’s Fuqua School of Management.
