New York Times has promoted its director of M&A and investments, Jacob Smilovitz, to executive director of corporate development and financial planning and analysis.

Jacob Smilovitz, director of mergers and acquisitions and investments for media company The New York Times Company, was promoted to executive director of corporate development and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) last month.

Smilovitz has held a range of strategy and development posts at New York Times since he joined in 2014, and was promoted to director of M&A and investments in February 2017 after overseeing its $30m acquisition of product review platform The Wirecutter in late 2016.
