The rest of the 100: Eileen Tanghal, general manager of Applied Ventures

Eileen Tanghal has risen to become general manager of Applied Ventures Applied Materialscorporate venturing unit.

Eileen has 17 years of experience working with early stage technology companies across the globe. She joined Applied Ventures as an investment manager in 2008.

Tanghal led several technology investments and collaborative partnerships with innovative companies addressing Applieds core semiconductor, display and solar markets.

Before joined Applied Ventures she served as an investment director in the London office of venture firm Kennet Partners. Before this, Tanghal was an investment associate at UK-based venture firm Amadeus Capital Partners Limited.

Tanghal was also one of the first engineering team members of PDF Solutions, specialising in semiconductor device design and fabrication. PDF Solutions went public in 2001.

Tanghal studied electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA at the London Business School.

She was given the Silicon Valley Twin Award for outstanding executive women in May 2014.
