C5 Capital provided fresh funding for the identity-focused cybersecurity software provider, which raised $14m in a Telefónica-backed round two years ago.

4IQ, a US-based cybersecurity intelligence technology developer backed by telecommunications firm Telefónica, has collected $18m in funding from venture capital firm C5 Capital.

Founded in 2016, 4iQ has built a cybersecurity platform which aims to protect users from identity theft, alerting individuals and organisations when their personal information is exposed in a cyberattack.

The company’s technology scans documents in 26 different languages across the web, including deep web sites such as paste bins and hacker forums, to index exposed identities.
