DataTribe, a startup studio formed to spin out US government technology R&D, has added VC firm Allegis Capital to a partner base containing Deloitte and Yahoo Japan.
US-based startup studio DataTribe added venture capital firm Allegis Capital to a list of strategic partners including consulting firm Deloitte and internet company Yahoo Japan on Tuesday.
DataTribe aims to form and build startups based on US government R&D projects, working on two or three each year. It will license and commercialise technology from government R&D projects that will be developed through making it open source or hiring engineers.
