Christoph Moning, a professor at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Science since 2014, is the new vice-president for research and knowledge transfer.

Headshot of Christoph Moning

Christoph Moning, professor of zoology and animal ecology at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Science (HSWT), has been appointed vice-president for research and knowledge transfer at the institution effective today.

He replaces Markus Reinke, who had been vice-president for research and knowledge transfer since 2017 but had not sought another term.

Moning has been with HSWT since 2014 and, as vice-dean of the Faculty of Landscape Architecture, has already been a member of the university senate.

Moning said: “A vice-president for research and knowledge transfer is, in my view, a catalyst for the opportunities of research. We need to drive visions together. We are good at providing solutions for future issues that challenge us as a society. Applied research at HSWT solves questions that others do not.” [translated from German by Global University Venturing]
