Digg spin-out Wefollow snaps up Aol spin-out about.me.

Wefollow, a directory that enables people to discover others with common interests, has been acquired by about.me, a company that was spun out of Aol.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wefollow, founded by Jeff Hodsdon and Kevin Rose (pictured) when they were still at social news discovery service Digg, started as a Twitter directory in 2009.

The project was later rolled into Digg. When Digg was sold to Betaworks in 2012, Hodsdon re-acquired the Wefollow project. It…
