France Telecom’s mobile phone network operator Orange has started an accelerator in the US. Orange Fab is a three-month programme – deadline 7 April – running in Silicon Valley, California, with $20,000 in funding and advice from mentors. Incubees will then present their ideas at demonstration days in Paris, France, and San Franciso. Georges Nahon, chief executive of Orange Silicon Valley and president of Orange Institute, said: “We are optimistic that opening up our world-class innovation centre in San Francisco, and providing start-ups privileged access to decision-makers on the front lines of our business operations will be a win-win for all participants.”
