Elenza's $24m B round came from private equity firm Carlyle Group, venture capital firm Delphi Ventures and an undisclosed strategic corporate investor from the ophthalmic industry, as well as Itochu.

Elenza, a US medical device maker formerly known as Ocular Optics, has raised $24m in its series B round from a consortium including Japan-based manufacturer Itochu.

The money will support the clinical development and technology commercialization of Elenza’s patented Electro-active AutoFocal Intraocular Lens to extract eye cataracts and correct presbyopia.
