The acquisition looks to have marked a big return for CyberAgent on the partial divestment, after it started the maker of popular game Rage of Bahamut last year with Y50m ($616,000)

Japan-based gaming company Dena has taken a 20% stake in Japan-based games developer Cygames for about Y7.4bn ($92.1m).

DeNA said it expects to complete the acquisition from Cygames’ current majority owner CyberAgent, a Japan-based gaming company, and Cygames’ board members on December 28, 2012. Last year CyberAgent started Cygames with Y50m in capital

DeNA also plans to take a seat on Cygames’ board.

Cygames and DeNA formed a strategic alliance in February 2012.
