Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), a New York-listed chip maker, has made its first deal out of its AMD Fusion Fund corporate venturing programme by providing an undisclosed amount to Vivu, a desktop videoconferencing service provider.
AMD said it sometimes invested in companies using its Fusion Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) products, understood to include Vivu.
Vivu previously raised a $3m series A round in October 2009 from venture capital firms Inventus Capital Partners, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Quest Venture Partners.
