Centro National de Análisis Genómico was the first national sequencing centre in Europe.
Albert Domingo has joined the Centro National de Análisis Genómico, a government-funded genomic sequencing and analysis centre, based in Barcelona, as entrepreneurial manager.
In his new role, Domingo, an adviser on advanced technologies to the European Commission, will be responsible for creating and growing spinouts for the public organisation, which was founded by Spain’s Ministry of Science and the Government of Catalonia in 2009.
Domingo was a director at UPF Ventures, the commercialisation arm of Spanish university Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and head of entrepreneurship at the academic institution for four years before taking on his new role.
