The European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA), the European trade body, has set up an expert group and annual summit dedicated to corporate venturing.
EVCA’s Corporate Venture Capital Summit will be held on 7 February 2013 in Brussels, while EVCA’s Corporate Venture Roundtable, a pan-European committee for corporates is chaired by Markus Thill, co-founder of Robert Bosch Venture Capital, the corporate venturing unit of Germany-based industrial group Bosch.
Markus Thill, who chairs the Roundtable, said: “This is all about giving CVC a ‘home’ in Europe. CVC is now an integral part of the EVCA. We had an annual CVC workshop for the last 12 years but the annual CVC Summit and further events will take it to another level. We will discuss all the key issues, trends, challenges and opportunities for our industry and I believe it will become the leading CVC event in Europe.”
Thill added: “The Roundtable is the first cross-platform initiative solely for CVC in the EVCA and we are looking forward to helping the cause of corporate venture, the venture capital sector as a whole and the cause of innovation in Europe.”
