The mobile jobs marketplace has now raised $35m in total, and will use the capital to support an expansion drive across North America.
Shiftgig, the US-based operator of a mobile short-term employment marketplace, closed a $22m series B round led by social media company Renren yesterday.
China-based Renren was joined by Chicago Ventures, DRW Venture Capital, GGV Capital, Garland Capital Group, KGC Capital, Pritzker Group, Wicklow Capital, Fabrice Grinda and Sam Yagan.
Shiftgig’s marketplace enables users to access temp jobs on their mobile devices. It will use the funding to continue its North American expansion and invest in sales, marketing, technology and operations.
