Quad Learning, a US-based online student learning company, has raised $11m from a consortium including cable company Comcast’s corporate venturing unit. Alongside Comcast Ventures in Quad’s series A round were venture capital firms Swan and Legend Fund, New Atlantic Ventures and New Enterprise Associayes. Its regulatory filings said it raised $3.25m last year and $7.85m last month. Comcast said it invest from its Opportunity Fund into Quad Learning, which is the creator of American Honors, a two-year honors experience for community college and junior college students that prepares them for upper level coursework at top universities. Quad Learning was founded in 2012 and has partnered with Community College of Spokane and Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana.
