Henrique Maggi leaves Irani Ventures to join the beauty company’s venture unit.

Henrique Maggi is joining Brazilian beauty company Grupo Boticario as a corporate venture capital specialist after spending the better part of the year on the corporate venturing team of paper company Irani.

Maggi said in a LinkedIn post that the new role will focus on identifying strategic investment and partnership opportunities to drive innovation at the group.

“I deeply believe in the fusion of corporate innovation and the power of entrepreneurship,” he says.

Before spending the better part of the year at Irani Ventures, Maggi spent more than a year as a corporate venture capital analyst at consultancy firm ACE Cortex. He also worked at Mercado Bitcoin Startups – the venture investment unit of crypto trading platform 2TM – where he was focused mainly on originating investments.

Grupo Boticario Ventures runs an accelerator programme focused on retailtech, beauty tech and beauty products. It invested in at least one startup – Estonian skin health monitoring software provider Haut.ai – late last year.
