Ji launches new venture firm

The new firm, Primer Ventures, will invest in early stage companies in the life science and therapeutics sectors. “Our mission is to empower outstanding startups and visionary entrepreneurs to transform advanced science and technology into groundbreaking healthcare solutions,” said Ji in a statement on LinkedIn.

Ji was at Illumina Ventures between 2016 and 2022. She also worked for other corporate venture units including WuXi Healthcare Ventures, the corporate venture arm of China-based pharmaceutical company Wuxi PharmaTech, where she was the principal for two years. “We’re immensely grateful for the trust and support from our investors, partners, entrepreneurs, and collaborators – your support and collaboration are what make our mission possible and impactful,” said Ji.
