French multinational food-products corporation Danone has partnered with philanthropic organisation Global Methane Hub to fund its accelerator programme.

The fund, Enteric Fermentation R&D Accelerator, received an undisclosed sum from Danone to further research on the reduction of methane emissions from dairy farming. Danone will also serve as the first corporate funder of Global Methane Hub’s accelerator.

The Enteric Fermentation R&D Accelerator is the largest globally coordinated investment and research fund that tackles livestock methane emissions. It was established in 2022 at COP27.

This year Danone has invested in Rite Water Solutions, Wilk Technologies and Promdeica24, a Poland-based at-home care services provider, which Danone acquired in April 2023.
