Samsung is among the investors to have provided $40m for Datera, a cloud storage technology developer that emerged from stealth today.
US-based cloud storage technology producer Datera disclosed $40m in funding today from a consortium featuring Samsung Ventures, the corporate venturing division of consumer electronics manufacturer Samsung.
Samsung invested together with venture capital firm Khosla Ventures and angel investors Andy Bechtolsheim and Pradeep Sindhu.
Datera was founded in 2013 but only emerged from stealth today. The company has developed software dubbed Elastic Data Fabric, which relies on commodity hardware to create and manage a large-scale cloud.
