Network operators Verizon and Digicel both contributed to a round that almost doubled the mobile payment company's overall funding.
Verizon Ventures, the corporate venturing unit owned by mobile and broadband provider Verizon Communications, has led a $9.4m series C round for US-based mobile payment service provider Flint Mobile.
Verizon was joined in the round by another mobile network operator, Digicel, as well as Storm Ventures, True Ventures and Peninsula Ventures.
