With nearly forty years of experience in tech transfer, Arundeep Pradhan will now co-manage the University of Wyoming's research and innovation division
Arundeep Pradhan has been appointed as deputy vice president for research and innovation by the University of Wyoming in the US.
He will work alongside vice president Parag Chitnis, co-managing the university’s research and economic development division. They will coordinate strategy to commercialise university research projects through the technology transfer office.
Pradhan joined the University of Wyoming in April 2023 as an interim director, where he helped to run the technology transfer office. In the financial year 2023, the office listed nine active portfolio companies including the biotech stem cell therapy startup CellDrop.
He has been president of research commercialisation consultancy Apio IX since its founding in 2012. Apio offers entrepreneurial advice and assistance to startups, with most of their work focusing on the University of Nevada’s accelerator programme, Sage. Apio recently helped the University of Wyoming to secure a $6m grant from the National Science Foundation in the US.
Pradhan’s career in university research commercialisation goes back to 1987, when he was an associate director at the University of Utah. He has since overseen dozens of spinouts, subsequently working in tech transfer roles for the University of Colorado and the Oregon Health and Science University.
