Venture firms WI Harper and former Google China president Kai-Fu Lee’s (pictured) TMI, whose accelerators are backed by German-based publishing group Bertelsmann, has invested an undisclosed amount into children’s entertainment studio Roam & Wander.  Taiwan-based Roam & Wander is focused on connecting software, devices and toys for kids ages two to six.

The company will use the new funds to grow the TuTu & DiDi brands by entering the toy market and expanding the company’s games and apps business.

Jason Warren, founder and chief executive of Roam & Wander, said: “Our goal is to establish Roam & Wander as the brand parents think of first as the leader in games and app-enabled toys for young kids, and the investments and expertise from WI Harper and TMI will be important in helping us grow into the leadership position.”
