The mobile development platform company has followed up its acquisition of SimpleGeo by raising $15.1m in financing from backers including Verizon and Salesforce.com.
US-based mobile development platform Urban Airship secured $15.1m in series C funding on Sunday from telecommunications conglomerate Verizon, enterprise cloud computing company Salesforce.com, and venture capital (VC) firms Foundry Group and True Ventures.
Foundry Group previously led Urban Airship’s series B round, which raised $5.4m in November 2010. The round also saw participation from True Ventures and VC fund Founders Co-op. Founders and True Ventures also contributed to Urban Airship’s $1.1m series A round in February 2010.
