Tomás Zavala is leaving Consorcio, a Chilean insurance group where he has a corporate development manager position responsible for CVC activities.
Zavala has been with Consorcio for more than six years. Before that, he was corporate strategy manager for Cencosud, a Chilean retail company, from 2013 to 2018, which followed two years at BCG, a US business consultancy.
Consorcio primarily invests in finance and IT startups in Latin America. In July, it participated in the $2m seed funding round for Regcheq, a Chilean company that makes software for anti-money laundering regulatory compliance. In 2022, it took part in the $2.1m seed round for Rocketbot, a Chilean SaaS company for process automation.
Zavala’s new role is with Caja Los Andes, a non-profit social security company, as corporate general manager.
