Jordan Turk, a nine-year veteran at the vehicle propulsion system producer, ascended to innovation and technology strategist.

Jordan Turk

US vehicle propulsion system provider Allison Transmission has appointed Jordan Turk as an innovation and technology strategist.

This role will require Turk to assess strategic investment opportunities at the firm’s corporate venture capital arm, Allison Ventures, as a technical lead. In addition to corporate venturing, he will manage technical due diligence and integration for Allison’s mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Launched in February this year and led by unit director Justin LaRocca, Allison Ventures focuses on startups and growth-stage companies developing commercial and defence vehicles, and mobility technologies.

Allison Ventures has disclosed a direct investment in rare earth metal-free magnet technology developer Niron Magnetics’ $25m round. It also committed $15m to mobility-focused venture capital firm Autotech Ventures in early 2022.

Turk spent nearly a decade at Allison Transmission in various roles from 2015, including engineering duties. He most recently held a 13-month technology business development manager stint, which entailed CVC, M&A and independent research and development initiatives focused on electric motor and inverter innovation.
