TDK Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Japanese electronics parts producer TDK, has added three team members to its London group.

Marc Bouchet (pictured left), who was promoted last week to senior investment associate, is among the new Europe-based members, as are investment director David Delfassy (pictured centre) and investment analyst Sam Hill (pictured right).

Formed in 2019, TDK Ventures focuses on materials science, energy and power technology developers. The unit opened its London office in June last year alongside the launch of a $150m multi-LP energy transition fund called Fund EX1. It also operates in California, Boston, Tokyo and Bengaluru.

Bouchet will help invest in digital and energy transformation opportunities through TDK Ventures Fund 2. Previously, he was based in the unit’s California headquarters, where he backed energy, climate and industrial startups.

Delfassy joined TDK Ventures after almost four years as a senior investment associate at deeptech investment firm Ahren Innovation Capital. He will make energy transition and decarbonisation investments through Fund EX1.

Hill is another new hire who will support Delfassy’s Fund EX1 team. He spent two-years-and-a-half as an investment analyst at cleantech venture capital firm Clean Growth Fund.
