Raghuram Madabushi has left his role as director at National Grid Partners, the strategic investment arm of energy utility National Grid, to join Samsung Catalyst Fund as investment director.

Madabushi spent nearly six years at NGP where he invested in early-stage companies in the broad energy transition and enterprise software vertical.

Prior to that, he invested in deep tech and industrial infrastructure at SRI Ventures, the corporate VC arm of SRI International, and GE Ventures, the investment arm of General Electric; managed a large portfolio of open-source technology projects at the Linux Foundation; and headed early-stage startup investing at Intellectual Ventures’ Invention Development Fund.

Founded in 2013, Samsung Catalyst Fund is Samsung Electronics’ evergreen multistage fund that invests in deep tech AI infrastructure. The fund invests in deep tech infrastructure and data-enabled platforms spanning AI, cloud and data centre infrastructure, networking, semiconductors, intelligent edge systems and emerging compute architectures.
