Algorithmic trading group XTX Markets has named former investment manager Gabriele Papievyte as head of its corporate venturing unit.

Gabriele Papievyte has been promoted to head of ventures at UK algorithmic trading firm XTX Markets.

Launched in London in 2017, XTX Ventures invests in late-seed to series A companies working on machine learning technology. It provides between $500,000 and $5m per deal and has nearly 30 active portfolio companies.

Papievyte joined XTX Ventures in August 2023 as an investment manager. She sits on the boards of portfolio companies Iomed, a medical record management platform, and Turbine, a cell-based drug development tool provider. She also helps lead the unit’s partnership with deeptech venture scheme Conception X.

Papievyte was an investment associate at VC firm Inovia Capital, where she was on the boards of portfolio companies, Zwift and Neo4j.
