The virtual reality system developer will supply the cash to indie game developers as it prepares to launch its platform in the first quarter of next year.

Oculus VR, the US-based virtual reality gaming platform owned by social network Facebook, is putting $10m of capital into a fund that will support indie game developers, VentureBeat has reported.

Funding will be available for indie developers working on content for its Oculus Rift VR system, which is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2016. The fund could also help Oculus secure exclusive games for the platform.
