Jakarta’s public rapid transit system will seek out local entrepreneurs to help develop their projects through newly formed accelerator MRTJ Accel.

Local government-owned transport system Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (Jakarta MRT) has formed a startup accelerator dubbed MRTJ Accel.

The company will use the eight-week initiative to partner Indonesia-based startups developing innovative products or services that could be commercialised through Jakarta MRT’s transport ecosystem.

Registration for the scheme opens on June 8 and the finalists will be announced on July 30. Participants will be able to leverage Jakarta MRT’s in-vehicle advertising and physical facilities to carry out proof-of-concept work.
