Searchmetrics has now raised $11m in total since being started in late 2007 by its chief executive, Horst Joepen, and Marcus Tober, and Holtzbrinck Digital financed its seed round.

Searchmetrics, a Germany-based provider of online analysis backed by media company Georg von Holtzbrinck’s digital division, has raised $6.75m in its series C round.

France-based venture capital firm Iris Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers Neuhaus Partners and Holtzbrinck Digital, which includes the group’s incubator Holtzbrinck eLAB and some corporate venturing investments previously made by Holtzbrinck Ventures, which has just become independent.
