3D printer developer Optomec secured $6m in a series B round backed by GE and Autodesk, the latter of which took part through its Spark Investment Fund.

US-based 3D printer manufacturer Optomec has raised $6m in series B capital from GE Ventures, the investment vehicle of conglomerate General Electric, and design software developer Autodesk, Dow Jones reported yesterday.

Autodesk participated through its $100m Spark Investment Fund, an initiative formed in October 2014 specifically aimed at supporting startups working on 3D printing technologies.
