Suguru Yamaryo has become president and CEO of ITC Venture Partners, the US-based CVC arm of Japanese conglomerate Itochu Corporation. 

Itochu operates in domestic trading, import and export of textile, machinery, metals, minerals, energy and chemicals. 

Based in Menlo Park, California, ITC Venture Partners specialises in fund of funds investments and partners with venture capital firms in US and Europe. 

Yamaryo was president and CEO of Itochu Technology Ventures (ITV), the Tokyo-based CVC and subsidiary of Itochu Corporation. In this role, he helped launch its fourth fund in March 2025, securing $115m. 

Yamaryo has led investments in companies such as Box, 41st Parameter, SentinelOne, Orbital Insight, Standard Cognition, Astranis, Payjoy, Any Color, Infostellar, Pale Blue and Sakana AI, as well as VC funds.  

He has steered business development initiatives supporting the Japanese market entry of over 20 startups.
