Niels Dietzsch is senior investment manager at Brose Ventures, the corporate venture capital (CVC) arm of Germany-headquartered car component manufacturer Brose Group. He joined the unit in March 2021 and invests in automotive and autonomous mobility technology developers.
First announced in late 2019, Brose Ventures forms part of an investment initiative that involves deploying €1.5bn to €2bn ($1.6bn to $2.2bn) of capital.
Brose had previously conducted some corporate venturing deals including participating in rounds raised by 3D metal printer developer Aim3D in 2018 and electric drive developer Torqeedo six years before, the latter was acquired by engine manufacturer Deutz in 2017.
Dietzsch is concurrently a board member of non-profit organisation German AgriFoodSociety and a member of the advisory board of Scaleup4Europe with a focus on agriculture technology.
Before that, he was head of Techbridge and venture partner at technology transfer group Fraunhofer Venture, where he helped build deep technology startup collaborations, having first joined as a senior investment manager in 2014.
Dietzsch had previously been a senior investment associate at venture capital firm Smac Partners and a mergers and acquisitions-focused senior consultant at professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.
He studied business administration with a focus on mechanical engineering at Technical University of Munich’s School of Management and strategy and corporate finance at HEC Paris.
