As portfolio manager at BCF Ventures, Bonnie Chau focuses on sourcing and leading due diligence for business-to-business startups.
Sergio Escobar, BCF Ventures’ chief executive, said: “With the objective of unlocking the previously untapped potential of corporate venture capital, Bonnie launched, led and executed BCF Ventures’ Corporate Innovation Program in partnership with Canada’s Scale AI supercluster and OVHcloud.
“Working closely with investors, corporations and startups alike, Bonnie was responsible for coordinating and facilitating business development among all parties. Through her innovative approach, startups benefitted immensely from greater accessibility to funding and product validation.”
Prior to joining BCF Ventures in 2019, Chau worked as a recruitment consultant at artificial intelligence-focused accelerator Next AI, following a five-year stint at IOU Financial as corporate accountant and senior manager for managing executive projects.
Regarding her investment skills, Escobar said: “Leveraging the unique corporate advantages at the fund’s disposal, Bonnie utilises the resources at her disposal to produce superior investment outcomes. In addition to providing a unique perspective to investment analysis, Bonnie is passionate about the startup community and regularly provides mentorship to aspiring entrepreneurs for startup accelerators. Chau is also an angel investor, and she has also been honing her investment skills through her passion of wealth management.

Chau earned her bachelor of commerce in accountancy from McGill University and holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
