Splunk helped cybersecurity software provider Deepwatch secure $180m while Alibaba sold off the rest of its One97 stake for $167m.
M&A
Matchmaking platform Tawkify has acquired S’More, the US-based creator of a dating app with blurred profile photos for an undisclosed amount, enabling dating services group Dating Group to exit. The company had raised $3.2m as of a $2.1m round in 2021.
Website personalisation platform Trbo has paid an undisclosed sum to buy Germany-based conversational commerce software provider Chatchamp, providing an exit for media group Axel Springer. Chatchamp graduated from the corporate’s Axel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator in 2018.
Emirates Telecommunications Group, the telecoms firm also known as E&, has purchased ServiceMarket, a UAE-based home services marketplace backed by real estate developer Emaar Properties, in a deal sized at up to AED81m ($22m). Emaar and venture capital firm AddVenture provided $4m for the company in a 2018 round that doubled its total funding to $8m.
Divestment
Ecommerce firm Alibaba has sold its remaining stake in One97 Communications, the India-based owner of digital payment platform Paytm, for $167m according to a stock exchange filing. The shares equate to a stake sized at about 3%.
Funding
US-based managed detection and response technology developer Deepwatch has raised $180m from investors including Splunk Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of software provider Splunk. The corporate was joined in the round by Vista Credit Partners and Springcoast Capital Partners.
