Best Buy Capital is one of the backers of Dashwire, a smart phone application company sold to Taiwan telecommunications company HTC.
Dashwire, a US-based smartphone application company backed by the corporate venturing unit of New York-listed electronics retailer Best Buy, has been sold to Taiwan-based mobile phone company HTC. Terms were undisclosed, but reports have placed the valuation at up to $18.5m.
The company has received multiple rounds of funding from backers including Best Buy Capital and venture capital firm Trilogy Partnership. Dashwire was founded in 2006 and provides mobile and web applications which allow users to personalise their phones.
