The virtual reality animation content and technology developer has received $6m from a consortium of investors including Comcast, Samsung, HTC and Chernin.

Comcast Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of cable and mass media company Comcast, led a $6m series A round yesterday for US-based virtual reality content producer Baobab Studios.

The round also included Samsung Ventures, which acts as Samsung’s corporate venturing vehicle, smartphone maker HTC, online media company Chernin Group, Advancit Capital, Box Group, Peter Thiel and Mark Pincus.
