A start-up company will offer engineering and other services to the Russian oil and gas industries in a collaboration between Fluor and Sibur's Scientific Research and Design Institute for Gas Processing.

Fluor, a US-based engineering and construction company, has taken a 10% stake in a Russian joint venture it is forming with petrochemical company Sibur.

The venture will offer engineering and other services to the Russian oil and gas industries in a collaboration between Fluor and Sibur’s Scientific Research and Design Institute for Gas Processing, called NIPIgaspererabotka and based in Krasnodar, Russia (see map).

Peter Oosterveer, president of Fluor’s Energy & Chemicals Group, said: "Fluor’s long history with SIBUR and NIPIgaspererabotka in Russia makes this new alliance a logical next step."
