Xiaomi and co-led social dating platform Yidui’s latest round with Sky9 Capital, investing alongside new and returning backers.

Consumer electronics producer Xiaomi has co-led a series B round of undisclosed size for China-based dating app developer Yidui that took its overall funding to almost $100m, PEdaily reported yesterday.

The round was co-led by venture capital firm Sky9 Capital and included Lighthouse Capital Management, People’s Network Cultural Industry Fund, Shunwei Capital and XVC.

Founded in 2015 by Beijing Milian Technology & Trade, Yidui operates a video-based social networking platform for singles.  The app has 40 million registered users and 10,000 active matchmakers, and is responsible for the arrangement of some 3 million online dates per month.

XVC led a series A-plus round for the company in December 2019 sized in the tens of millions of dollars range, PEdaily reported. Bluerun Ventures was among the participants according to 36Kr, having backed a first close six months earlier.
