Marc Sedam, the vice-provost for innovation and new ventures at University of New Hampshire (UNH), has been appointed vice-president for technology opportunity ventures at New York University (NYU)-affiliated medical centre NYU Langone Health.
In his new role, Sedam will be responsible for the functions previously overseen by the former Office for Industrial Liaison, created to promote the commercial development of innovations developed at NYU Langone Health, NYU and NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
His responsibilities will also include facilitating research collaborations between NYU researchers and industry partners.

Daniel Widawsky, executive vice-president and vice dean, chief financial officer at NYU Langone Health, said: “Marc comes to NYU Langone with an extensive background in intellectual asset management, licensing and startup formation.
“We are pleased to have Marc join our team to transform Technology Opportunity Ventures into a centre of excellence in entrepreneurship and research investment.”
