LaunchLab has entrusted Joshua Romisher with driving its entry into new African markets beyond its existing purview of South Africa.

Stellenbosch University has selected Joshua Romisher (pictured) to lead up its LaunchLab incubator, VentureBurn reported yesterday.
LaunchLab was formed in 2013 through the South African university’s innovation and industry engagement unit, Innovus.
Stellenbosch now aims to expand the incubator into other African markets under Romisher’s direction starting later in 2020.
Romisher joins LaunchLab after 21 months as chief financial officer at home solar generation system supplier Fenix International from late 2017 until July last year.
He was vice-president of corporate finance for off-grid solar generation business Zola from 2015 until 2017, after a five-month graduate fellowship at Stanford University’s Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance.
Romisher’s earlier career highlights include five years at financial services firm Credit Suisse’s San Francisco-based securities unit, where he was posted as director for structured products and investment banking.
He was business development and fundraising for rural electric lighting and device supplier Affordable Village Solar from 2014 until 2015, having previously founded yoghurt product line Yoppi Yoghurt in 2010.
