Heidelberg Instruments Mikrotechnik has acquired the Fraunhofer spinout for an undisclosed sum.

Multiphoton Optics (MPO), a Germany-based lithography technology spinout of Fraunhofer Society’s Institute for Silicate Research, has been acquired by nanofabrication tools producer Heidelberg Instruments Mikrotechnik (HIMT).
Financial terms have not been disclosed. MPO will now operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the corporate.
Founded in 2013, MPO has developed maskless 3D lithography technology that allows the fabrication of complex structure in a single process step.
