LSU’s Office of Innovation and Technology Commmercialization has brought in Spencer Rogers as its new director.

Headshot of Spencer Rogers

Spencer Rogers has joined Louisiana State University (LSU)’s Office of Innovation and Technology Commmercialization as director.

LSU announced the appointment today, though LinkedIn indicates that Rogers joined the university in March this year. He had previously been an associate director of technology transfer at Brigham Young University since 2013.

Rogers has also served as chief executive of half a dozen companies and was the inventor of the products of two of these — a business-to-business software-as-a-service platform for human resources and a portable woodburning stove.

Rogers will report to Andrew Maas, associate vice-president for research in the LSU Office of Innovation & Ecosystem Development.

Rogers says: “Nothing matches the thrill of making a discovery and then seeing it become a real product. I’m excited about working with LSU innovators to help them move their inventions from the lab to the marketplace.”
