Meta Additive, a UK-based additive manufacturing technology developer spun out of University of Liverpool, has been purchased by its peer Desktop Metal for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 2019, Meta Additive has created technology that enables the manipulation of materials at the molecular level and eliminates challenges around porosity, shrinkage, production speeds and part size limitation. The spinout does not appear to have raised any external funding.
