Every day, Global University Venturing rounds up the smaller investments from across the university innovation ecosystem in its deal net.
Alice & Bob, a France-based quantum computing technology producer based on resaerch at Écoles Normales Supérieures, has procured €27m ($29.9m) in a funding round backed by Elaia, Supernova Invest, Bpifrance and Breega, according to FrenchWeb. It is unclear whether Elaia made the investment through PSL Innovation Fund, the vehicle it manages on behalf of Université Paris Science et Lettres. Elaia’s contribution to Alice & Bob’s $3.3m round in 2020 was made through PSL Innovation Fund and Breega also invested at that point.
Delfina, a US-based personalised prenatal care platform operator, has raised $5m in a funding round backed by E14 Fund, the investment vehicle aligned with Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab. Story Ventures led the round, while SemperVirens VC, Bread & Butter Ventures, Goodwater Capital, Metrodora VC, SpringTime Ventures, assorted angel investors and undisclosed others participated in the round.
Mevia, a Sweden-based digital health technology spinout of Chalmers University of Technology, has secured an undisclosed sum from incubator and venture fund Chalmers Ventures. Mevia last disclosed $456,000 in funding from investors also including Chalmers Ventures in 2019.
