UC Berkeley-linked cell biology technology developer Berkeley Lights floated in a $178m offering and its shares almost tripled in price on their first day of trading.

Berkeley Lights, a US-based digital cell technology provider based on research at University of California, Berkeley, raised over $178m in its initial public offering on Friday.
