The airport-based auto rental firm has raised $14m from investors including Crunchfund, the venture capital firm backed by internet company AOL.

Silvercar, a Crunchfund-backed airport car rental service, has raised $14m in series B funding from venture capital firms Velos Partners and Austin Ventures.

Eduardo Saverin, chairman of Velos, and Raj Ganguly, partner at Velos, will join the board of US-based Silvercar as an observer and director, respectively.

The company previously raised $18m including, in October 2012, $11.5m in its series A round from AOL-backed Crunchfund, as well as venture firms Austin Ventures, and SV Angel Fund, and angel investors Chris Dixon and Dave Morin.
