Corporates Fosun and Tencent co-led the round for the mobile medical devices maker, taking its overall funding to almost $50m.

US-based medical devices maker Scanadu raised $35m yesterday in a series B round co-led by conglomerate Fosun and internet portal Tencent.

China Broadband Capital, IGlobe Partners, Relay Ventures, Redmile Group, AME Cloud Ventures and Three Leaf Ventures also took part in the round.

Scanadu is working on a range of products that incorporates medical diagnostics capabilities into a smartphone. The company crowdfunded $1.6m for its Scanadu Scout (pictured) two years ago and is currently shipping the product to those backers.
