The medical documentation tool developer has been acquired by Nuance Communications having raised $7.5m from investors including NewYork-Presbyterian.

Healthcare provider NewYork-Presbyterian has exited Saykara, the US-based developer of an intelligent medical assistant, in a purchase of undisclosed size by artificial intelligence technology producer Nuance Communications.

Founded in 2015, Saykara has created a mobile assistant that utilises AI to automate parts of the clinical documentation process for physicians, helping to streamline their workflow. Its staff will be transferred to Nuance’s research and development team.
